A Cherubs ELC Day
Experience a fun and structured day with Cherubs Early Learning Centre.
Our daily routine is designed to provide a balance of structured activities and free play, with a focus on meeting the National Quality Framework and providing a warm, friendly, and caring environment for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years.
During the day you will receive your child’s day story, photos from throughout the day, you will also have access to policy reviews, centre events, excursions and incursions.
Hour by hour
Each day begins at 6:45am, when the centre opens and children and families are greeted by our experienced and qualified Educators. Children are placed in sibling environments or mixed groupings to promote socialisation and learning.
Babies and toddlers transition to their designated environment while the Kindy children head to the big yard. Preschoolers transition indoors for morning greetings and shared news/gold box information, followed by morning tea. Toddlers also have a morning group at this time, consisting of stories and music before morning tea.
Kindy children transition indoors for their morning group and greeting, leading into morning tea and intentional activities based on each child’s interests and strengths. The Preschoolers head outside for obstacle courses and intentional skill teaching, with Monday and Thursday reserved for fundamental sports and Wednesday dedicated to soccer.
The Preschoolers have their own group time for intentional teaching and activities focused on the Preschool curriculum and school readiness. The toddlers and babies have a shared outdoor environment in the big yard, while the Kindy children enjoy indoor activities, stories, and games with mixed groupings.
Lunch and rest time begins, with Preschoolers eating at 12:30pm and toddlers and Kindy children having a quiet/rest time from 1:30-2:00pm, including soft music, storytelling, yoga, and relaxation techniques. The Preschoolers also have a rest time at 1:00pm, with yoga and a rest period.
Afternoon activities and tea begin, with Preschoolers and Kindy children going outside at 3:30pm and toddlers and babies staying in their own yard.
Toddlers join the mixed groupings in the big yard. Indoor activities, stories, and games with mixed groupings begin at 5:00.
End the day with a smooth transition as the centre closes at 6:45pm, and reenergize for the next amazing day ahead!
